The BBPA and its members agreed to undertake one or more of the following actions in support of the Public Health Responsibility Deal.

  1. Offer a house wine below 12.5% to their tenants or in their directly managed pubs.
  2. Actively promote lower alcohol products in their pubs and to their tenants.
  3. Offer at least one non/lower alcohol beer to their tenants or in their managed pubs additionally non and lower alcohol beers will be showcased on the Beer Genie website and through the Let There be Beer Campaign.
  4. In support of the pledge to train 10,000 bar staff BBPA has also agreed to contribute a significant sum over the next two years to a start up fund for LEAF (Life Skills Education Alcohol Foundation). That Foundation is to establish programmes in a number of schools and offer staff training.
